The swim will take place in the swimming pool of Calne Leisure Centre. This will be 16 lengths of a 25-metre pool. You will start and finish at the shallow end, where you will exit through the door on the far side. Transition will be located on the playing fields just outside; you will have approximately 150 metres to your bike. The cycle route is an out and back 20km route which takes a steady climb out past Oldbury (Cherhill) White Horse with some fantastic scenery. You will come back into transition where you can quick change your shoes and drop your bike off, before heading on a 50:50 grass & tarmac out and back 5km run. As you come back into the grounds, you will finish on the spectator friendly cricket strip.
If you would like to take part in this triathlon event as a team, please select the team entry option and include additional details in the custom field at the bottom of the page. You may have two or three members in your team. Your timing chip will act as your relay baton and ALL changes must take place in the relay change over box in transition.
Smart Start System
After a successful trial of this system in the 2016 event, we have continued to use this system ever since. The Smart Start System works by adding a swimmer into the lane every 3 minutes, depending on your swim speed. This prevents congestion and also allows you to have a better swim as those in front of you have settled into their pace so there is no scrapping for the lead.
